PRIVATE DINING EXPERIENCES

Boasting views of the historic Midway Plaisance, our space offers a warm ambiance perfect for groups up to 30 to celebrate large corporate events, graduation parties, birthday celebrations, and other social events.

For smaller event sizes, please consider a Fireside Dining Experience.

FIRESIDE DINING EXPERIENCE

Available as a semi-private event option, the Fireside Dining Experience features a customized menu designed for groups up to 16 to connect and mingle by the warmth of our indoor fireplace, located in the rear of the restaurant.

All of our menus feature seasonally-inspired selections crafted in house; available as a three-course plated menu, reception style experience, or passed hors d’oeuvres. We offer both lunch and dinner, full beverage service, and curated cocktail selections.

Important Note Regarding Private Events

Please note that all private event requests are subject to availability at the time of booking.

BARDAVID reserves the right to change menu selections, update capacity allocations, and modify private event offerings without notice.

By hosting an event with us, you agree to these terms.

Event Capacities & Guarantees

PRIVATE EVENTS: 

Maximum Seated Capacity: 25 seated guests | Maximum Reception Capacity: 30 reception-style guests

Guaranteed Guest Count: Final guest count must be confirmed at least 48 hours in advance of the reservation. The Customer will be billed for the guaranteed count plus any overage.

SEMI-PRIVATE EVENTS: 

Maximum Seated Capacity: 10 seated guests | Maximum Reception Capacity: 16 reception-style guests

Guaranteed Guest Count: Final guest count must be confirmed at least 48 hours in advance of the reservation. The Customer will be billed for the guaranteed count plus any overage.

Private Event Payment Terms

Deposit: A deposit of 50% of the total Food & Beverage minimum is required to secure the reservation. The deposit will be applied toward the final bill and is non-refundable unless the cancellation policy applies.

Final Payment: The remaining 50% of the Food & Beverage balance plus any additional overage is due upon completion of the event.

Gratuity: An automatic gratuity of 20% will be added to the total bill for all events. This applies to the total cost of food and beverage excluding tax.

Accepted Payment Methods: Cash or credit card. To arrange prepayment with a payment method on file, please contact Douglas Minek at dmienk@uchicago.edu at least 48 hours in advance of your experience.

Fireside Experience Payment Terms

Deposit: A deposit of $250 USD is required to secure the reservation. The deposit will be applied toward the final bill and is non-refundable unless the cancellation policy applies.

Final Payment: The remaining balance plus any additional overage is due upon completion of the event.

Gratuity: An automatic gratuity of 20% will be added to the total bill for all events. This applies to the total cost of food and beverage excluding tax.

Cancellation Policy

48-Hour Notice: A full refund of the deposit will be issued for cancellations made at least 48 hours prior to the event.

Less Than 48 Hours: The deposit will be forfeited.

Same-Day Cancellations or No-Shows: The full food & beverage minimum will be charged.

Additional Terms & Conditions

Force Majeure: The Restaurant is not liable for events outside its control, such as natural disasters, government restrictions, or unforeseen closures. In such cases, deposits will be refunded or rescheduled without penalty.

Liability and Indemnity: The Restaurant is not responsible for lost, stolen, or damaged items belonging to the Customer or guests. The Customer agrees to indemnify and hold harmless the Restaurant from any claims arising from the event.

Alcohol Policy: Alcohol will only be served to guests aged 21 and over. The Restaurant reserves the right to refuse service to intoxicated guests.

Outside Food and Beverage: We kindly ask that you seek prior approval for bringing in any outside food or beverages. Please note that if approved, a service fee may apply.

Floor Plan and Decor: Customization to the pre-existing floor plan and decor must be approved by the Restaurant in advance. Furniture is not permitted to be moved once floor plan is confirmed. No open flames, confetti, or items that cause damage to the premises are allowed.

Damages: The Customer is responsible for any damages to the Restaurant property caused by the Customer, their guests, or vendors. The Customer agrees to cover repair or replacement costs.
